Then there was Wayne Rooney, a man who just doesn't quite know when to stop (thank god).
Are we a one man team? Yeah, maybe we are, but aren't most top clubs all reliant on some great player?
Arsenal have Fabregas, Chelsea with Drogba, even Liverpool with Torres, so what's really wrong with that, it's part of football, right?
Yeah it is but when they go down with injuries, those same top clubs all suffer one way or another, what can we do about it really?
Buy more players? There are lots of good players, but great ones...they are few and far between but because we are the great Manchester United, it is only us who get labelled a one man team.
We are the ones who will get nowhere without Rooney, so we are told by the endless dribble from TV pundits the likes of Hansen and Shearer and critics from the press. Why?
It's all because we are one of the greatest teams in football and they all really want us to fail and each year we annoy them a little bit more when we bounce back. If you listen to them somewhere around November, they start taking us apart and always by March they start eating those words again because one thing's for sure.
We are always in the mix on the home straight and always upsetting people, they are all the same and all saying, "there's no way Man United can do it again" or is there?

Oh how the ABU brigade must have loved and hated yesterday. We were struggling without Wazza, but he made a difference when he came on. He became the focus for the team, but I wouldn't have said he was the best player on the pitch by a long way. He scored a crucial and very well-taken goal, but without the industry of Park and Fletch and the superb deliveries from Valencia, we would have been gubbed! It was a team effort that won it.

Bored of people saying United are a one man team , Cantona , Van Nistlehorse , DBeck , Ronaldo all have left and someone else has stepped up to the mark . I think United are a sum of their parts which is why year after year they continue to sustain a challenge on all fronts .
Take the named players out of ARSEnal , Chavski , Liverpoor and Bitter Blues and all your left with is a shell .

Definitely agree with you. The squad is strong because they play so well together on the same page within a system and carry out their roles. Wazza's is to score and he is as Fletcher is to be the engine in midfield which he is doing.

we are a one man team at the moment. u are right in that they are not many great players and the ones that are avalible are way over priced.
we are not one man team for sure, other players make rooney the best,if he was playing in some other club that wont be the same

Does Rooney stop shots for us and makes our saves? No.
Is his job to defend and make sure our opponents do not score? No.
Does he run past 3 players, and provide a killer through ball for our main striker to score with? No.
And how many of his goals this season have been set up by other players, like Berbatov, Flecher, Nani, and Valencia???
So how can we be labeled a 'One - man team?'
We are Manchester UNITED...a team.
Take no notice of people who say this, they are just jelous. This was the same story with the likes of Beckham, Ronaldo, Van Nisterooy, and Cantona.
Even if we were a one man team (which we're not)...so what?
